Coming Soon - Howard Bulmer Young Nature Champion Award
The Howard Bulmer Young Nature Champion Award
A new Award has been launched to mark the 40th anniversary of the start of the charity upon Howard Bulmer's death. Funded by HBCT, the Howard Bulmer Young Nature Champion Award is for young people aged 16 - 25 who are passionate about nature and want to take action and make a difference in a particular green space in Herefordshire. The Award was developed in partnership with Herefordshire Wildlife Trust, who are managing delivery. The winners this year in the 16-18 year category are Iska Metz and Tatiana Hale, for a habitat creation project at Fairfield High School and in the 18-25 category is Charles Gundy, a teacher living and working in Hereford, with his project, “Weaving Nature: Reviving the River Wye through Art, Awareness and Wellbeing.”
The trustees explain:
“Our great-uncle Howard supported the development of the young all his life, so this Award in his name is aimed to encourage what he most cared about – nature, young people and his beloved county of Herefordshire. We are pleased to have one project this year that is high profile in Hereford about the River Wye and the other that is embedded within a school and community”
